Buffalo Naval Park, Tour Guides, Volunteer, Military History

The Buffalo Naval Park welcomes volunteers and groups to engage with our park at a more meaningful level. Our volunteers play an essential role in helping to serve the Naval Park’s mission: honor, educate, inspire, and preserve. They share the history and significance of our artifacts and collection, provide assistance to visitors, help maintain the grounds and preserve the ships, and much more. See how you can donate your time today!

Docents – Trained volunteers who provide educational tours of the ships to visitors and groups.

Landscape Committee – Maintain the gardens and assist with the general upkeep of the grounds throughout the Park.

Ambassador – Engages with visitors, greets and welcomes guests, provides general information on the grounds and in the museum building.

Gift Shop – Sales, front desk, and customer service support.

Ship Maintenance – Help the ship’s caretakers by assisting in hands-on projects, including painting, cleaning, renovation, etc.

Collections and Exhibits – Work hands-on with staff to preserve and maintain artifacts in the Buffalo Naval Park’s exhibits and permanent collection, assist with archival organization, database entry, and research.
