Volunteer opportunities at the Buffalo Naval Park are always available. See how you can donate your time today!
The Buffalo Naval Park welcomes volunteers and groups to engage with our park at a more meaningful level. Our volunteers play an essential role in helping to serve the Naval Park’s mission: honor, educate, inspire, and preserve. They share the history and significance of our artifacts and collection, provide assistance to visitors, help maintain the grounds and preserve the ships, and much more. See how you can donate your time today!
Docents – Trained volunteers who provide educational tours of the ships to visitors and groups.
Landscape Committee – Maintain the gardens and assist with the general upkeep of the grounds throughout the Park.
Ship Maintenance – Help the ship’s caretakers by assisting in hands-on projects, including painting, cleaning, renovation, etc.
Collections and Exhibits – Work hands-on with staff to preserve and maintain artifacts in the Buffalo Naval Park’s exhibits and permanent collection, assist with archival organization, database entry, and research.
PTF-17 Boat Project – Help a special team of volunteers bring our PTF-17 Boat back to life! Thanks to the generosity of Linde, Home Depot, and Northrup Grumman, the Vietnam-Era Patrol Boat is getting some much needed care.
Education – Assist with daytime programming and overnight youth encampments.
Events – Aid in the planning and operations of special events.
Corporate/Group Days of Service – Arrange a corporate or group team-building day of service at the Park. The Naval Park staff will work with you to determine appropriate projects based on the number of volunteers and hours that are scheduled.
