New USS Little Rock Commission in Buffalo, New York
It was an exciting few weeks at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park as the new USS Little Rock was commissioned right here in Buffalo, NY. The new USS Little Rock’s commissioning beside the former USS Little Rock represents the first time in the Navy’s 242 years that a new ship enters the fleet beside its namesake. According to The Buffalo News, “Around 8,500 people were at Canalside to watch the ceremony,” which took place on December 16, 2017.
