SUMMARY:Behind the Scenes Curator Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join the Buffalo Naval & Military Park’s Curator and Director of Museum Collections\, Shane Stephenson\, for a special behind the scenes tour of USS Little Rock. \nThis tour will give an in-depth look at our collections and highlight some of the challenges in preserving these important artifacts for future generations. Visit spaces on board the USS Little Rock that are not available on any of our other tours. \nEach tour will last approximately 2 hours and will be limited to 11 people. When touring most areas of the ship\, visitors should expect to traverse narrow passageways\, be able to step over significantly raised thresholds\, and climb up and down very steep ladders. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes\, closed-toe shoes\, and bring a flashlight. Due to the length of the tour and the spaces that will be visited\, this tour is not recommended for those under 11 years of age. \nCurator Tours will take place at 1:00 PM. \nClick here to purchase your tickets!

DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Rotary Club of Buffalo and the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park\, join us for a special Father’s Day and Juneteenth movie night with a screening of Devotion. The event will take place aboard the Fantail of USS Little Rock on Sunday\, June 18. Doors open at 7:00 PM\, and the movie will begin immediately following a pre-film presentation with Saladin Allah at 7:30 PM. \nThis event will be free to attend but a ticket is REQUIRED as space is very limited. \nMovie-style concessions will be available for purchase. \nDevotion is the story of the friendship between naval officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War. The ceremony will be open by invitation only\, but the public is invited to attend a virtual live stream of the event.
