Visit us Memorial Day weekend from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM\, with last admission at 4:00 PM. USS Little Rock and USS Croaker will be open along with the museum building. USS The Sullivans will remain closed as work continues to preserve and maintain the ship. Purchase your tickets for a self-guided tour by clicking here. The community is welcome to join us and the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Sullivans Division for a lunchtime Memorial Day cookout at the pavilion in our Monuments Garden. In traditional picnic style\, hot dogs will be available for purchase. We are proud to be hosting a number of ceremonies and events throughout the weekend. One Life – One Flag Installation May 28 – 30 \nThroughout Memorial Day weekend\, 7\,300 flags will blanket the grounds of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park to represent the average number of United States Veterans who have lost their battle with PTSD per year\, an average of 22 per day. From May 28-30\, walk or drive by the Naval Park to see the installation.  \nFor a $22 donation\, you will receive one of the flags from our Memorial Day weekend salute along with a certificate. There will be a ticketed Planetarium Experience from the Challenger Learning Center along with activities and giveaways! Join us on Sunday\, July 31 from 12 PM – 4 PM at the Buffalo Naval & Military Park for this edition of the Niagara Label Family Summer Series.  The mobile planetarium dome’s capacity is 20 people and seating is on the floor. Shows will run consecutively on a 30 minute schedule. Tickets for the planetarium are available for $5 per person online or $7 at the door. Members can attend for free but must reserve a spot. Vietnam War Living Historians will be present with table displays designed to educate attendees on the uniforms\, equipment and stories of the era. This event is free to the public and is a great opportunity to learn about the Vietnam War and to help support the Naval Park. Planned activities include table displays of military equipment and weapons\, military vehicles\, educational films and opportunities for Vietnam Veterans to speak. The Black Lions is a Living History group in the Western New York area that educates the public on the Vietnam War. The group concentrates on an impression of the 1st U.S. Infantry Division\, 2nd Battalion\, 28th Regiment “Black Lions” B Company Rifle Squad in Vietnam during 1967-1969. The group utilizes hands-on displays of the uniforms\, equipment\, weapons and every day items carried and used by the “Big Red One” Infantry of the Vietnam War.
